AUTISM AWARENESS DAY AT LAKE COMPOUNCE

Walk Now for Autism SpeaksAutism is the fastest growing serious developmental disability, with current diagnosis rates of 1 in 150 children. A new case is diagnosed every 20 minutes, 67 children per day, with 1 in every 94 boys on the autism spectrum. More children will be diagnosed with autism this year than with AIDS, diabetes and cancer combined. There is no medical detection tool for autism and there is not a cure. It is a lifelong disability, but with early detection, the implementation of therapeutic and educational techniques can make a huge impact in an individual with autism's life.

Lake Compounce prides itself on being accessible to individuals of all abilities and on June 20th we are teaming up with the Great Hartford Walk Now for Autism Committee for Autism Awareness day at Lake Compounce! A portion of the proceeds from this day will benefit Autism Speaks!

June 20th also happens to fall on Father's day
and everyone here at Lake Compounce couldn't be more proud to support and recognize the importance of a father's role in the life of an individual with autism. So on June 20th come celebrate your father and all of the wonderful things they do in your life, and in the lives of our guests with autism.
