At Lake Compounce, the health and safety of our Guests and Team Members is our top priority.
This page details the many measures being taken to protect our Guests and Team Members.

While we are committed to these enhanced standards, there remains an inherent and elevated risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place and any place where people are present. Please read all information on this page to best prepare your group for a visit to Lake Compounce.

Pre-Visit and Arrival Safety Measures

  • If you have a fever or are displaying other symptoms of COVID-19, please stay home.
  • In order to maintain our reduced capacity, all Guests will need to pre-purchase admission in advance and RSVP for the day they wish to visit through our online registration system. Those who have a Season Pass will need to make a reservation through our online registration system.
  • Ticket and Season Pass sales are available for purchase online only. Third parties such as stores and community organizations will not sell hard tickets in 2020.
  • Walk-up visitors with a pre-purchased ticket or Season Pass will be admitted without a reservation until Lake Compounce's predetermined capacity limit is reached.
  • If the date you wish to visit is not available for a reservation, please select another day.
  • All Guests, Team Members, Vendors, and Contracted Partners will have their temperature scanned by a contactless thermometer before entering Lake Compounce. Anyone with a temperature at or above 100.4 degrees, or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, will be denied entry. The travel party of a person denied entry will also be unable to visit that day.
  • All entrants will be required to wear facial coverings. The only exceptions are for children under 3 years of age.
  • Team Members will also wear additional personal protective equipment, including gloves and face shields when appropriate, to perform select work functions.
  • Those without a facial covering will be able to purchase them at park retail locations.
  • Automatic sanitizer stations have been added at the entrance and throughout the park dispensing alcohol-based sanitizer per Centers for Disease Control & Prevention guidelines.
  • Enhanced sanitization throughout the entrance areas including a thorough daily deep cleaning of all rides and touchpoints with an EPA-approved sanitizer.
  • In order to achieve six feet of social distance between travel parties, markers will be placed on the ground in all lines and waiting areas. Plexiglass barriers will be installed in locations where social distancing between Team Members and Guests cannot be achieved.
  • Signage throughout the parking and entrance areas will remind all of the importance of following all rules during their time at Lake Compounce.

Amusement Park Safety Measures

  • Capacity of rides and indoor facilities within Lake Compounce will be closely monitored to ensure a minimum of six feet of social distancing between travel parties can be achieved.
  • In order to achieve six feet of social distance, markers will be placed on the ground in queue lines. Plexiglass barriers will be installed in locations where social distancing cannot be achieved.
  • Enhanced, frequent sanitization will occur throughout the park including a thorough daily deep cleaning of all rides and touchpoints with an EPA-approved sanitizer.
  • Automatic sanitizer stations have been added throughout the park, dispensing alcohol-based sanitizer per CDC guidelines.
  • Guests must self-sanitize before boarding a ride or attraction. Sanitizer stations have been added at rides and attractions.
  • Some rides or attractions may be closed during this initial opening phase, or closed for the entirety of the summer if Lake Compounce management feels recommended social distancing and hygiene standards cannot be safely and effectively achieved.

Waterpark Safety Measures

  • Guests may remove their facial coverings to engage in water-related activities, including swimming in pools, on water slides and water attractions, or while walking to/from these activities. Coverings may also be removed in order to eat.
  • Capacity of pools and indoor facilities within Lake Compounce will be closely monitored to ensure a minimum of six feet of social distancing between travel parties can be achieved.
  • Locker capacity has been reduced by 50% to ensure proper social distancing.
  • In order to achieve six feet of social distance, markers will be placed on the ground in queue lines and waiting areas for Guest use. Plexiglass barriers will be installed in locations where social distancing cannot be achieved.
  • Park staff will monitor pools to ensure social distancing between travel parties, along with conducting standard water safety practices.
  • Enhanced sanitization throughout the park including a thorough daily deep cleaning of all rides and touchpoints with an EPA-approved sanitizer.
  • Automatic sanitizer stations have been added throughout the park, dispensing alcohol-based sanitizer per CDC guidelines.
  • Due to social distancing requirements, guests may be preassigned seats on attractions and rides.
  • Some attractions may be closed during this initial opening phase, or closed for the entirety of the summer if Lake Compounce management feels recommended social distancing and hygiene standards cannot be safely and effectively achieved.

Food & Beverage Safety Measures

  • Facial coverings may be removed in order to eat and drink. Social distancing measures will be emphasized when face coverings are temporarily removed.
  • Prior to opening, all non-porous surfaces, high touchpoints will be thoroughly disinfected and on a routine schedule after opening.
  • Indoor and outdoor tables and chairs will be thoroughly disinfected after each customer’s use.
  • Different Entrance and Exit points will be designated when possible to avoid or reduce face to face exposure.
  • Employees must frequently wash their hands with hot water for 20 seconds and use a paper hand towel or a hand dryer to dry hands at the beginning of the shift and throughout the day.
  • Sanitizer Stations are available in all food preparation areas and all guest service areas. In addition, Team Members will frequently sanitize all high traffic touchpoints.
  • In order to achieve six feet of social distance, markers will be placed on the ground in queue lines and waiting areas. Plexiglass barriers will be installed in locations where social distancing cannot be achieved.
  • Tables and other Guest seating will be adjusted to ensure six feet of distance between all travel parties.
  • Team Members will be required to wear facial coverings and additional personal protective equipment, including gloves and face shields. Hair restraints are required by Lake Compounce in all kitchen areas.
  • Self-serve soda fountain refill stations will not be used. Team Members will fill and serve all drinks for Guests.
  • Soda/Souvenir Cup refills will be served over the counter by an attendant using paper cups.
  • Water bottle fill stations will be open, however, water fountains will be turned off.
  • Napkins and cutlery will still be available from no-touch dispensers.
  • We strongly recommend Guests utilize contact-less payment for all food and retail items. Cash may not be accepted at all locations.

Retail Safety Measures

  • Prior to opening, all non-porous surfaces, high touchpoints will be thoroughly disinfected and on a routine schedule after opening.
  • Facial coverings and hand sanitizer will be available for purchase at park retail locations.
  • Automatic sanitizer stations have been added at retail locations and throughout the park, dispensing alcohol-based sanitizer per Centers for Disease Control & Prevention guidelines.
  • In order to achieve six feet of social distance between travel parties, markers will be placed on the ground in all lines and waiting areas. Store layouts have been adjusted, and plexiglass barriers will be installed in locations where social distancing between Team Members and Guests be achieved.
  • Signage throughout the park will remind all of the importance of following all rules during their time at Lake Compounce.
  • Team Members will not be allowed to use a guest provided bag, however, they can allow guest to bag their own purchase if necessary.
  • All sales are final, there will be no exceptions.

Working Together to Avoid COVID-19

The health and safety of our Guests and Team Members are our top priority. In these unprecedented times, we have implemented enhanced health and safety measures to help protect everyone. But we can’t do it alone. We are counting on everyone’s efforts to do their part by cooperating with these new measures that are designed to keep every person visiting and/or working at Lake Compounce healthy and safe.

Guest Responsibilities

  • Wear facial coverings per CDC guidelines.
  • Submit to temperature check upon arrival.
  • Wash hands often with soap and water.
  • Avoid touching your face.
  • Maintain six feet of social distance from others not in your travel party.

Guests should familiarize themselves with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines and evaluate their risk in determining whether they should visit our facility. If you or a member of your household are ill or think you may be getting ill, or you have been in contact with someone diagnosed or suspected of having COVID-19, please postpone your visit until you are well.

By visiting our facility, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
