The countdown to the 2024 season at America’s First Amusement Park is on. In less than a month, on Saturday, April 27^th, we'll be swinging open our gates for another season jam-packed with family fun and excitement. Throughout the off-season, we have continued our park-wide improvement project as we celebrate the long-standing history of Lake Compounce while modernizing key areas of the park. As we gear up for Opening Day, get ready for something special as we unveil the revamped version of one of our most historic, and beloved attractions – the iconic Wildcat roller coaster.

The Wildcat roller coaster has been a staple here at Lake Compounce since 1927, replacing the Green Dragon roller coaster, Wildcat was designed by Herbert P. Schmeck and built by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company in 1926, it's a true testament to the history of this park.

Throughout 2023 and the off-season, we've been hard at work alongside Gravity Group, breathing new life into this classic coaster. More than 800 feet of the coaster has been completely re-tracked with Gravity Group’s innovative pre-cut, vertically stacked wood track. The patented pre-cut track allows this historic wood coaster to maintain its integrity as a wood coaster while completely removing the bouncing effect that riders feel when they hop aboard older wood coasters. That means Lake Compounce riders get a smoother and more thrilling experience.

The best part? You're invited to be among the first to experience the re-tracked Wildcat on Opening Day. Passholders will enjoy an exclusive early ride time at 10 a.m., complete with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, Wildcat giveaways, a DJ dance party, and more. It's going to be an epic grand re-opening celebration!

Wildcat isn’t the only improvement our team has made this off-season. We've got a whole lineup of exciting updates and improvements across the park, thanks to our brand-new leadership team of seasoned amusement park veterans including:

1. Boulder Dash Upgrades

We've been busy enhancing the award-winning Boulder Dash roller coaster with over 1,000 feet of Steel Titan Track by Great Coasters International. Get ready for an even smoother ride experience that seamlessly blends wood and steel.

2. Seasonal Events

Our lineup of events is bigger and better than ever! From Kids Fest featuring meet and greets with exclusive characters like Pete the Cat™, to the return of our Summer Concert Series featuring nationally touring tribute acts and all-new Beach Bashes, there's something for the whole family to enjoy.

3. 1846 Coffee Co.

Need a pick-me-up? Swing by our new coffee shop for delicious hot lattes, cold brews, and mouthwatering pastries.

4. Elevated Food and Beverage Experience

We're taking dining to new heights with exclusive menu offerings at Johnny Rockets, Timberjack Chowhouse, Potato Patch, and more. Keep your eyes peeled for monthly limited-time offers.

5. Gift Shop Upgrades

Treat yourself to some souvenirs at our revamped gift shops. From plush toys at the brand-new Toy Store to unique finds at the Emporium Gift Shop, we've got something for everyone.
