We want you to know the health and safety of our Guests and Team Members is our top priority. We are fully committed to creating the cleanest and safest environment possible for your visit.

The way we will operate this summer is significantly different from what we are all used to as we adapt to the new landscape created by COVID-19. While we are committed to enhanced standards in an effort to keep you as healthy and safe as possible, there remains an inherent and elevated risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place and any place where people are present. Please, read this page fully to ensure the best experience possible as you plan your visit and join us.


Working Together to Avoid COVID-19


The health and safety of our Guests and Team Members is our top priority. In these unprecedented times, we have implemented enhanced health and safety measures to help protect everyone. But we can’t do it alone. We are counting on everyone’s efforts to do their part by cooperating with these new measures that are designed to keep every person visiting and/or working at Lake Compounce healthy and safe.


Guest Responsibilities


  • If you have a fever or are displaying other symptoms of COVID-19, please stay home
  • In accordance with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to maximize protection from the Delta variant and prevent possibly spreading it to others, wear a mask indoors in public if you are in an area of substantial or high transmission
  • Those who are not fully vaccinated should wear a facial covering, per CDC recommendations
  • Wash hands often with soap and water
  • Avoid touching your face
  • Those not fully vaccinated must maintain appropriate (6 ft.) distance from others not in your travel party

Guests should familiarize themselves with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and evaluate their risk in determining whether they should attend our facilities. If you or a family member are ill or think that you may be getting ill, please postpone your visit until you are well.

By visiting our facility, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.


Here are the specific steps we’re taking in accordance with state and federal guidelines.

Planning a Visit

In order to comply with key health and safety measures surrounding limiting capacity, social distancing, and touch-free payment, planning a visit to Lake Compounce will look different this summer.

  • Reservations are no longer required, but guests are encouraged to purchase their Day Tickets in advance.
  • Any person displaying any symptoms of COVID-19, will be denied entry.
  • In accordance with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to maximize protection from the Delta variant and prevent possibly spreading it to others, wear a mask indoors in public if you are in an area of substantial or high transmission.
  • Per the CDC and the Connecticut Department of Health, guests who have been fully vaccinated* are not required to wear a facial covering when visiting Lake Compounce. Guests who are not fully vaccinated* should wear a facial covering and practice social distancing.

Lake Compounce reserves the right to require a Guest to leave if the Guest is (i) using profanity, offensive or threatening language towards our Team Members or other Guests and/or (ii) violating any other Park Rules.

*People are considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after their 2nd dose in a 2-dose vaccine series or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine.


On-site Vaccine Clinic

We will be partnering with Community Health Center, Inc. to offer COVID-19 vaccinations at the Recharge & Relax station near Boulder Dash. Vaccines are being administered on the following dates and times:

  • August 15: 2:00pm — 8:00pm
  • August 21: 2:00pm — 8:00pm
  • August 22: 2:00pm — 8:00pm
  • August 28: 2:00pm — 8:00pm
  • August 29: 2:00pm — 8:00pm

No appointment necessary. Park Admission is required.

  • Ticket and Season Pass sales will be conducted online. Third parties such as stores and community organizations will not sell hard tickets in 2021. To reduce hand-to-hand exchanges, we strongly encourage ticket and Season Pass purchases to be made online.
  • Face coverings are available for purchase at park retail locations.
  • Automatic sanitizer stations have been added at the entrance and throughout the park dispensing alcohol-based sanitizer per Centers for Disease Control & Prevention guidelines.
  • Enhanced sanitizing throughout the entrance areas including a thorough daily deep cleaning of all touchpoints with an EPA-approved sanitizer.
  • Requiring social distance of six feet between those who are not fully vaccinated.
  • Signage throughout the parking and entrance areas will remind all (Guests, Team Members, Suppliers, and Contracted Partners) of the importance of following all rules during their time at Lake Compounce.

  • Capacity of rides and indoor facilities within Lake Compounce will be closely monitored to ensure a minimum of six feet of social distancing between travel parties can be achieved.
  • Capacity of pools and indoor facilities within Crocodile Cove Water Park will be closely monitored to ensure a minimum of six feet of social distancing between travel parties can be achieved.
  • Requiring social distance of six feet between those who are not fully vaccinated.
  • Enhanced sanitization throughout the park including a thorough daily deep cleaning of all rides and touchpoints with an EPA-approved sanitizer.
  • Automatic sanitizer stations have been added throughout the park, dispensing alcohol-based sanitizer per CDC guidelines.
  • Hand sanitizer and facial coverings are available for purchase at park retail locations.
  • In accordance with guidance from the CDC, to maximize protection from the Delta variant and prevent possibly spreading it to others, wear a facial covering indoors in public if you are in an area of substantial or high transmission.
  • Per CDC guidelines, all Guests who are not fully vaccinated* should wear facial coverings.
  • Team Members who are not fully vaccinated* should wear facial coverings and additional personal protective equipment, including gloves and face shields.
  • Team Members will monitor pools to ensure social distancing between travel parties, along with conducting standard water safety practices.
  • Guests must remove their facial coverings to engage in water-related activities, including pools and water slides. Coverings may also be removed to eat or drink.
  • Some attractions may be closed for the entirety of the summer if Lake Compounce management feels recommended social distancing and hygiene standards cannot be safely and effectively achieved. Please check our Ride Status Updates page for the most up-to-date information.

  • Before opening, all non-porous surfaces, high touchpoints (door knobs, door handles, tables, chairs, push plates, railings, light and air control switches) will be thoroughly disinfected and on a routine schedule after opening.
  • Different Entrance and Exit will be designated when possible to avoid or reduce face to face exposure.
  • Sanitizers will be available in all food preparation areas and all guest service areas, (i.e. Order and Pick up points). Also, employees will frequently sanitize all contact points.
  • Tables and other Guest seating have been adjusted to ensure six feet of distance between all travel parties.
  • In accordance with guidance from the CDC, to maximize protection from the Delta variant and prevent possibly spreading it to others, wear a facial covering indoors in public if you are in an area of substantial or high transmission.
  • Team Members who are not fully vaccinated will be required to wear facial coverings and additional personal protective equipment, including gloves and face shields where appropriate. Hair restraints are required by Lake Compounce in all kitchen areas.
  • Guests may remove their facial coverings to eat and drink.
  • Guests who are not fully vaccinated* may remove their facial coverings to eat and drink.
  • Grab & Go is permissible only if the items are individually packed with appropriate labels and bottled drinks.
  • Self-serve food, condiments, and topping stations have been discontinued. Pre-portioned condiments and toppings (filled from bulk dispensers behind the counter) will be handed to the guest with the food order upon request.
  • Self-serve soda fountain refill stations will not be used. Team Members will fill and serve all drinks for Guests.
  • Soda Souvenir Cup refills will be served over the counter by an attendant using paper cups.
  • Napkins will still be available from the no-touch dispensers.
  • We strongly recommend Guests utilize contact-less payment for all food and retail items.

Is the 2020 Preschool Play Pass extended into next year?
The Preschool Play Pass has not been extended, however, if your child still qualifies for the pass in 2021, you will have the opportunity to register for one as long as you still have a season pass.

Does the 2020 Summer Saver Season Pass include next year as well?
No, the Summer Saver Season Pass is valid only through the end of this Summer and expires on September 20, 2020.

Does my 2020 Bronze Pass include 2020 & 2021 Seasonal Events (Haunted Graveyard & Holiday Lights) since it has been extended?
No, Bronze Season Passes are still limited to just the summer seasons.

Has my All Season Parking Pass and All Summer Dining Pass been extended into next year?
All Season Parking Passes and All Summer Dining Passes purchased before June 1, 2020 have been extended through the 2021 Season as well. The All Summer Dining Pass is still restricted to the Summer Seasons only. The All Season Parking Passes will expire on 12/31/2021.

Can I purchase a 2020-21 Season Pass?
2020 Silver, Gold, and Gold Deluxe Season Passes have been extended to include the 2021 season through the end of Holiday Lights. Bronze Season Passes will include Summer 2020 and Summer 2021.
Passholders who purchased a 2021 pass extension will receive a credit and get next year free.

Will I receive a refund on my pre-purchased admission tickets?
Good Any Day tickets purchased before June 8, 2020 will be valid through the entirety of the 2020 or 2021 Summer Season, and Date-Restricted Tickets will be accepted any day of the 2020 or 2021 Summer Season. Guests with additional questions about their tickets can email info@lakecompounce.com to connect with our Guest Services staff.

I had a School Picnic or Group Event scheduled but can no longer visit. What now?
Surcharges, deposits and date blackouts will be waived on group outing tickets, including school picnic tickets. Group Outing Planners should contact the Lake Compounce Group Sales department by emailing groupsales@lakecompounce.com to discuss options to reschedule early-season outings.

Is Lake Compounce Campground accepting reservations for 2021?
Yes, the campground is accepting reservations for 2021.

To streamline the check-in process, we are encouraging all guests to pay online prior to arrival. A link to pay your final balance will be sent to you via a confirmation email.

How can I contact someone about my visit at Lake Compounce Campground?
Please email info@lakecompounce.com. Include the name on your reservation and the date you planned on visiting. Our team will respond as quickly as possible.

In keeping with the recommendation of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and in following with orders from the Connecticut Department of Health, Guests who are fully vaccinated* do not have to wear a facial covering while at Lake Compounce. Guests who are not fully vaccinated* should wear facial coverings while at Lake Compounce.

In accordance with guidance from the CDC, to maximize protection from the Delta variant and prevent possibly spreading it to others, wear a facial covering indoors in public if you are in an area of substantial or high transmission.

Facial coverings must do the following:

  • Fully cover an individual’s nose and mouth and allow the guest to remain hands-free
  • Fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
  • Be made of breathable material, either disposable or reusable

Costume masks are not considered appropriate and are prohibited. Face shields are not permitted on any attractions and are not a substitute for a facial covering. Face shields are permitted within the park when worn with an acceptable facial covering.
If you forget your facial covering, we will have some for purchase at the park.

For those who are not fully vaccinated*, facial coverings should be worn:

  • To enter the park
  • Throughout the property
  • On attractions (except for water-based attractions)
  • In queue lines (except for lines for water-based attractions)
  • Enclosed locations (retail stores, bathrooms, locker pavilions, First Aid, etc.)


Facial Coverings are not required:

  • In accordance with the latest guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Connecticut Department of Health, guests who have been fully vaccinated* are not required to wear a facial covering when visiting Lake Compounce.
  • For those not fully vaccinated, facial coverings are not required when enjoying water-based attractions, including pools and slides, and while eating or drinking
  • While eating or drinking

While we always strive to have every ride open and operational, due to the pause on preseason preparations as well as new safety procedures, some rides may be delayed or closed for the season.
